Next Life

Gold was the heart that made me warm,

Warm was your blanket that I chose, but wrong.

Green was your shade, that made me blue

Soft was the touch, your love was true.

My honourable orange, plunging a little needle in your
heart

My home in your arms in which I stayed for years, yet
apart.

Unafraid of your elders, you accepted my colour

Cold were the eyes that cursed us, lovers.

Your arms both built and broke me

The night you embraced my lips,

Was the day you set me free.

Older eyes dried away, our worlds fell apart,

Between the devil and the deep blue sea.

Entangled in your love, my eyes broke a sweat

Seeing the tears in your eyes, I wiped mine first

We’ll meet each other in the next life again, you
said to me.

Be born in my caste, my love

Saying that we set each other free

Burial was your ritual, mine by fire

How does it matter, the ghost whispered to me,

No one can harm us here.
