Death is considered as a negative concept in nature. It is looked upon as an end, the villain of life, a medium of sorrow. Darkness envelopes the human mind and it becomes the epicenter of negativity. Whereas, birth is considered as a miracle of life, a true pattern of happiness, a beautiful form of god’s gift.
It is strange how we, humans, can divide sadness and happiness into two elementary components of life. Humans tend to achieve goals that bring them happiness. The pursuit of happiness is a basic instinct in humans and we tend to avoid situations that bring us sorrow. This behavior is involuntary.
However, we tend to ignore the fact that birth and death; happiness and sadness; are the two sides of same coin. Without the existence of sadness, there is no possibility of happiness. There is no light without darkness. There is no peace without war. Therefore, it is a proven fact that there is negativity is a must in life. We, humans tend to avoid it the most. But it’s a necessity that we must face to achieve the greater end. Gandhi once said that ‘there is no means without end’.
Here all I can say is that one must walk through the road of darkness to achieve enlightenment.
